In this centenary year of the Bauhaus we were delighted to host a wonderful evening celebrating the launch of Magnus Englund and Leyla Deybelge’s book, ‘Isokon, and the Bauhaus in Britain’ at our Wigmore St showroom. The authors gave a fascinating talk by about the Isokon building and the time that the Bauhaus masters Walter Gropius, Marcel Breuer & Laszlo Moholy-Nagy spent in London before a buffet supper was served from our live bulthaup b3 kitchen. Inspired by the 1930’s Half Hundred supper Club, founded at the Isokon building by Jack Pritchard, the menu was cleverly put together by Gaggenau’s Home Economist, referencing some of the dishes taken from the original supper club’s archives. The fifty guests enjoyed networking over supper and drinks just as the original club members would have done.
